1. How can our mental health services benefit you and/or your loved ones or residents?

Our staff is trained in a variety of areas, including problems with transitioning to a new living environment,  aging transitions, life changing events, end of life issues, family conflicts and lack of family support.  Our services can also be beneficial to anyone experiencing feelings of depression, sadness, anxiety, low energy, 
grief and loss, excessive worrying, aggression, paranoia, crying spells and any other issue that has decreased your ability to cope and function based on what is normal for you.  Our clinical social work team offers support to residents, family and staff members in nursing homes and assisted living settings as they cope with issues such as acclimation issues, roommate issues, adjustment to new medications, refusal of medications/food, a new medical diagnosis, attention seeking behaviors and end of life planning.

2. Who pays for our services?

We accept Medicare, Medicaid (PASRR clients only), cash and credit cards as forms of payment. Some of our services require no out of pocket costs to our clients.  Our services may also be covered by your insurance using your out of network provider benefits. We discuss all fees with you prior to starting service to ensure that you will have no additional costs that you have not agreed upon. 3. What are our areas  of expertise?

Our staff is trained in a variety of areas and maintain continuous education to always provide our clients with the most appropriate techniques and/or therapeutic modality to meet their individual needs. We believe in treatment of the whole person and desire to assist our clients in all areas of their lives that are important to their overall mental, physical and spiritual health. 

4. What is our service area and how soon can you be seen by a clinical team member?

Our staff travel throughout Georgia to service our clients.  We can normally see all new clients within 7 days of referral.  Our staff work on holidays, evenings and weekends.  Please contact our office at 770-676-6741, e-mail us at info@akchealthcare.com or visit the contact us page of our website to schedule an appointment or to make a referral. 

5. How can I make a referral or reach your staff after hours?

You do not need a physician referral, a previous mental health diagnosis or physician order to begin our services.  Our services fall under the specialty practice of mental health services and does not normally require a doctor's approval. Anyone can refer a new client to our practice; however the client must be agreeable to our services and able to consent for services.
